“I don’t need a mask, God is my protection,” claims pro-gun Facebook man

FACEBOOK—Irony went over the head of a grossly incompetent local friend on Facebook when he told his followers that he doesn’t need a mask to protect him from COVID-19 because “God is my protection,” shortly after sharing a meme about his right to bear arms and the need to protect his home from invaders.

“This is surprising for sure,” said one of his friends on the social media platform. “I mean, I knew he was grossly incompetent, but this is just too much.”

Another friend told a reporter, “He doesn’t see the irony. He never will. I tried to bring these two points up in conversation with him at the same time, but he can’t link them together for the life of him.”

“Within the span of 15 minutes, he made a post about how God will save people from mental illness and protect them from Coronavirus,” another friend said, “and then made other posts about maintaining police funding and protecting the right to bear arms. It’s like he’s picking and choosing what God can protect him from.”
